What do I need to consider with service packaging?
Updated
Service packaging is packaging that is only filled with goods at the point of sale and handed over to the customer or is used to deliver the goods to the customer. These are, for example, coffee-to-go cups, pizza boxes or bread roll bags.
Service packaging is the only packaging you can buy pre-licensed. This means that the seller of the packaging has already concluded a licensing agreement for this packaging. The seller must then confirm this to you by providing evidence. If you buy service packaging that is not pre-licensed, the obligation to participate in the system continues.
Important: If you purchase pre-licensed packaging, since 01 July 2022 you must nevertheless register with LUCID. Here you must then state that you only purchase and hand out pre-licensed or pre-participating packaging to the customer.
